Tired of playing phone tag or hiring expensive sales reps? Consider this option…
What is eCoaching?
There are several definitions. It’s a way to support your client asynchronously via email. It can involve training, mentoring, counseling, or even therapy.
Benefits of eCoaching:
- It allows the consultant to manage time and clients better.
- Having documentation eliminates note-taking.
- It is an easy way to provide tools and additional resources.
- It makes it possible for a coach to work with several clients at once.
- It lowers the expensive fee that is charged for in-person coaching.
Important
The client still gets to access the expertise and skill of the trainer or consultant. This knowledge, experience, and advice is the critical aspect of the interaction (more than the vehicle).
Coaching VS Teaching
Teaching is focused on the acquisition of new knowledge and skills. Coaching is focused on refining and developing knowledge and skills. For example, you may teach a new employee organizational systems and processes, but you may coach them through improving the processes or working on their efficiency.
Rise of Remote Coaching
The pandemic accelerated remote interactions and multiplied the number of online coaches. Unfortunately, many of them are attempting to charge outrageous fees for their services to justify ‘face-to-face’ (Zoom) training. Using eCoaching is a way to lower payment pressure for clients. Yet, the mechanism of asynchronous email allows coaches to work with many more clients than usual. Email correspondence will also tend to be more complete and thoroughly thought out.
Another benefit is that email coaching eliminates the need for scheduling coaching sessions, aligning calendars, canceling, postponing, rescheduling, etc. (phone tag).
Global
Coach and coachee can correspond from any location on the globe. This opens up new client opportunities.
