Okay, let’s get into this lead generation thing.
Truth be known the ‘big guys” (and gals) are all over YouTube (skip) ads and Facebook.
The reason that you see them so often is that they have deep pockets and can last.
But have you noticed the ‘new-comers’ who place an ad or two and you never see them again?
Why?
Because Facebook and YouTube ads are expensive!
These poor souls blew through a couple of thousand dollars and are now probably out of the game.
Yes, if you are reading these words you probably have something that you are trying to sell online. That means that you need to generate leads.
It’s the number one problem for anyone marketing anything online.
But here’s the trick.
You need to generate enough leads to get momentum!
(A couple of leads a day won’t do it).
There is a ‘guru’ online who is trying to get you to his coaching to ‘learn how to generate leads from cold traffic’.
What you should know:
1) His course is expensive.
2) You will need to spend around $10k on Facebook ads to get traction (that’s if you do get traction).
3) Your funnel is already working!
The method you will learn is:
- Setup a (*Facebook) ad.
- Send traffic to a webinar.
- ‘Book A Call’
- Convince lead to buy.
- Rinse and repeat.
*The whole system is set up on making Facebook your primary marketing channel (not a very smart move).
This Means That You Will Need to:
A) Spend a lot of time tinkering with your sales funnel. (Yes, even the popular, expensive, one that you think is magic).
B) If you don’t want to spend hours of your life on the phone each day doing this you will need to hire a high-pressure sales rep (or two).
C) You will need to get used to training and hiring and firing them because they don’t last!
My questions to you are:
- How much time do you have?
- How much money do you have?

Facebook ads aren’t magic. The spend ‘$5 a day’ model that worked even a couple of years ago does not work today (2022). You will need to spend lots of money ($10k or so) on ads to break through the noise or hire an agency (and spend lots of money).
BTW – tweaking your audience targeting, copy, and other funnel elements, will cost you money and lots of time. It may take $10k just to get your funnel moving using this method.
