Smallville – Tom Welling and Erica Durance

Smallville – Tom Welling and Erica Durance Make a Guest Appearance
Yes, it’s been a dozen years since Tom Welling and Erica Durance stood side by side…

Okay. I’ll admit it.

I was a fan of The CW series Smallville (Oct. 2001 – May 2011). It starred Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk. Though Eric Durance finished out the series as Lois Lane (AKA Mrs. Clark Kent).

Smallville
Smallville was the home of the Smallville Orphanage, where the Kents originally brought the infant Kal-El after his rocket landed on Earth; the Kents returned several days later to formally adopt Kal-El, renaming him “Clark.”

History
In October 1989, a meteor shower hits Smallville, and with it arrives a little boy. The child is adopted by Martha and Jonathan Kent and named Clark. Twelve years later, Clark struggles to understand his identity.

The thing that made Smallville unique was that it focused on a young Clark Kent and his life before he became Superman, it chronicled the formation of that eventual “hero”, and just how ‘Kal-El’ would distill his qualities and strengths into his two personas, Superman and Clark Kent. It was developed by writer-producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on the DC Comics character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

Superman and Lois
Superman & Lois is a television series based on the DC Comics characters of the same name. It premiered on February 23, 2021, on The CW. The show is also part of the “Arrowverse” although the storylines are conflicting in certain areas. I guess this allows them to distance Superman & Lois from the rest of the Arrowverse to give the writers more latitude. I couldn’t keep up with the “Multiverse” and the variety of story plots and crossovers in the Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. According to the network the current DC Multiverse has 52 different Earths in existence all occupying the same space, but vibrating at different frequencies.

Yep. It’s a lot!

BTW – I have time to revisit these great episodes because I have a business that earns me truly passive income (you can see it here).

Nostalgia
I did get a touch of nostalgia when I saw the guest appearance of Tom Welling and Erica Durance (2019). Had not seen this clip before. You can see the entire clip at the link below:
