    I listen to audiobooks while traveling in the metro. I only listen to music when I walk and that too not often.

    I carry my mobile, water bottle, headphones, a small towel and my wallet. For my leisure walks I do not carry any of these.

    Actually it is good to walk barefoot as it removes the negative energy within you and energises you positively and also has an accupressure effect under your feet.

    I have a walking mate who is from my neighborhood. He gives me healthy competition and helps me set my standards high and in this way I am getting closer to my goal of an ideal body weight.

    I am certain about one thing that walking burns calories and also makes us sweat which in turn is a mode of eliminating waste from the body as well as regulating body temperature. And of course oxygen levels are increased during walking.

    I take a break before returning back during my walk and this gives me the rest I need. Taking frequent breaks does not do good with regard to losing weight.

    I take a large glass of milk before my walk and it gives me the required calories. I do not eat anything solid before my walks as I feel uneasy due to it.

    Even if we do not really talk to people during our walks, we do greet them with gestures and it does create a sense of companionship.

    If you have a walking partner, then it becomes easier to get going in the morning. Otherwise connect with people whom you regularly meet on your walking route and this will create a sense of purpose for you to walk in the morning.

    After my morning walk, I sit down to read the newspaper. In this way, I let my body cool off and get rid of the sweat. I take a shower only after that.

    Brisk walking is better than running. Running helps to build stamina. Brisk walking will definitely burn your calories and give you the required fat loss over a period of time.
